Dromoland Golf & Country Club will host its 9th annual Open Week from Monday 14th August to Sunday 20th August 2017. Open competitions will run daily, alongside a series of social events, giving golfers the opportunity to visit the club, enjoy the clubhouse facilities and play the Academy.
Mark Reynolds, Golf Manager looks forward to hosting the week. “We welcome members, friends and new visitors to this summer’s Open Week. It’s going to be bigger and better than ever. The course is in terrific condition since last month’s PGA Club Professional Tournament and we look forward to some great competitive play during the week.”
The Dromoland Castle Estate recently unveiled the results of a €20 million renovation, which includes the installation of new course pathways and other course improvements alongside renovation of the 5 Star Castle.
The Open Week schedule includes on Monday August 14th a Fourball Better Ball competition, any combination. Tuesday August 15th is Juniors 18 Hole Singles Stableford (7.30am – 11.30am) and Ladies (11.30am onwards) in Teams of Four, two scores to count. Wednesday August 16th is a Four person Scramble, any combination. Thursday August 17th is Teams of Four, Two scores to count, any combination. Friday August 18th is Ladies and Gents Open Singles and Sunday August 20th is a Four person Texas Scramble, any combination. The Fig Tree Restaurant within the clubhouse will host daily specials for breakfast, lunch and evening dining.
