Meet Kitty Quinn, our new Lady Captain

We are delighted to announce Kitty Quinn as our new Lady Captain for 2018.  Kitty is from Clarecastle and has been a member for 7 years. She is passionate about golf and plays off a 26 handicap, one of her greatest golf achievements to date was playing in ‘The Coronation Foursomes’ competition at St Andrews Golf Club.

We sat down with Kitty to get to know her better and to discover what she hopes to achieve during her year as Lady Captain.

Q&A with new Lady Captain Kitty Quinn

What is your outlook for your tenure as Lady Captain?
For the Ladies Section of the club to thrive and improve.

What are your hopes and aspirations for the year?
To bring home some silverware again this year.

Tell us about your funniest moment on the course?
The attack that the nesting swans launched yesterday on the ladies out in competition.

What are you hoping for Ladies Leagues this year?
That the Maria Nolans Challenge Cup Team – a formidable bunch, and Julie Fitzgerald s Revive Active competitors should go far. And we are hopeful that our ladies will bring The Munster Cup back again to the club.

Which is your Favourite Hole on our course?
The  7th with the stunning view over the lake to The Castle.- just majestic.

What is your greatest Golf Achievement?
When Breige Scanlon and myself won The All Ireland Qualifier to Compete in St. Andrew s GC. In ‘The Coronation Foursomes’.

Who would be in your dream FourBall?
My son Jimmy and his 2 boys, they are all handy golfers and great fun to play with.

Who is your favorite Golfer and what is your favorite course?
Padraig Harrington and Lahinch.
