It is an honour for me to be a Captain of Dromoland Golf and Country Club. Dromoland Castle and estate date back through the centuries as the ancestral home of the O’Brien clan. It is now 51 years in existence as a hotel and golf course. Over those years, the golf course has undergone many phases of development. The course that exists today is a very highly regarded parkland course. As members we are very proud of our golf course and consider it to be a challenging and rewarding experience to play here.
Apart from the golf, I take great pleasure from the beautiful environmental setting of the course. While golfing one can admire the wonderful natural variety of trees and plants as well as observe several species of animal and bird life that are native to Dromoland Estate. The lake, the river and the water features are a feast for the senses.
There is a series of interesting and special holes on the course. The setting of the 7th provides a spectacular view of the castle and the lake; while the par 5 18th is a tremendous finishing hole with a 200 year-old evergreen tree guarding the entrance to the green. That is just to mention two holes.
If you would like to come and join as a full member, or as a guest, I know you would enjoy playing our golf course, and enjoy the friendly Dromoland hospitality.
Lady Captain 2018
I am very honoured to be Lady Captain of Dromoland Golf Club, and thanks goes to Annette Ryan , last year s Lady Captain for inviting me to step into her shoes.
Dromoland is a special Place, and when you drive in those majestic gates and you get the view of the Castle and the lake you know you have arrived in a magical location.
The Golf Club staff and the staff of The Fig Tee Restaurant are there to please the customer at all times and deserve great credit for their service.
I can guarantee you that should you get an opportunity to visit Dromoland , you wont be disappointed. We look forward to welcoming golfers and diners alike.
